SUMMARY:New Year Challenge
DESCRIPTION:What is the New Year Challenge?\nParticipants register for the New Year Challenge with Challenge Northwest and walk or run at least one mile a day from Jan. 1st to Jan. 31st.  Your mileage earns you a medal status\, or the envied Winter Warrior title.  KidVantage receives a portion of the registration fees and 100% of the retail purchases (shirts\, sweatshirts\, etc.)\, thanks Challenge Northwest!\n \nHow does the challenge work?\nMileage is recorded by the participants and tracked in a mobile friendly website: raceday.racemenu.com.  You must login and record your daily miles within 4 days to stay in the challenge (ie: if you run on the 1st you have until the 5th at 11:59PM to log that day’s miles).  ONLY miles ran/walked outside count towards the Winter Warrior Status.  See more information about logging miles here. \nLeaderboard & Medal Status:\nYour cumulative miles\, indoor + outdoor\, determine Gold Status (5 mils/day)\, Silver Status (3 miles/day)\, or Bronze Status (1 mile/day).  You can walk/run more than once per day.  To earn Winter Warrior Status\, you MUST walk/run at least one mile OUTSIDE per day. \nJoin the challenge as a team:\nAll team miles\, indoor + outdoor\, count in the team competition.  Participants can add their team’s miles regardless of individual challenge status.  Teams are coordinated by a Team Captain\, and there will be prizes for the most fun\, most goofy\, and most inspiring social media posts about the challenge! \nPrizes you can win:\nWinners for raffle prizes are selected from register participants\, people posting on social media\, and other random reasons Challenge Northwest is giving prizes.
