Shoreline Volunteer Spotlight: Patricia Peebles
Patricia Peebles discovered KidVantage in 2011. After her daughters’ twins started to grow, her family found themselves with items they no longer had use for. Starting in 2012 Patricia and her family began donating items to KidVantage.
After donating to KidVantage for many years, Patricia decided to start volunteering at the Shoreline Hub in 2019. I love the mission,” Patricia said. “It’s a sense of purpose… it’s very meaningful to work there, and to work with likeminded people brings me joy.”
This joy has kept Patricia coming back to KidVantage for over 6 years. Through volunteering, Patricia has found herself as part of a community – one she referred to as “really awesome.”
So, let’s celebrate Patricia and her dedication to helping local kids thrive! Thank you for being such an important part of the KidVantage community!
Bremerton Volunteer Spotlight: Camilia "Cecy" Smith
Camilia “Cecy” Smith started volunteering at KidVantage’s Bremerton Hub shortly after the grand opening. Starting in 2017, Cecy joined KidVantage’s incredible community of volunteers.
“I really enjoy going there,” Cecy said. “Not only to get of out my house, but to help.” Cecy often spends her time in the Hub sorting clothes, shoes and girl’s hygiene products.
The Hubs get items in every condition: new, gently used and worn. Some items just need a little extra care to bring them back to life, and Cecy has taken it upon herself to do just that. After sorting through items at the Hub, Cecy will take items home and bring them back ready for their next adventure!
Thank you, Cecy, for being an important piece of the KidVantage community! Your contributions make an incredible difference in the lives of local families.
