Do you wash all your kid's clothes every day?

The answer is probably not… but for this mom, she had to, it was the only clothing her children had.

She was a single mother of 3, who hadn’t had stable housing. She kept the family’s belongings in her car, but the car was broken into. The children’s clothing and other items were taken from the vehicle, leaving the kids with only the clothes they had on at the time.

Fraught already, she was left with a broken car window and no clothes for her children. The mother could not afford to replace the clothing that was stolen, so she was washing her kid’s only outfits daily to give them something to wear.

One of our partner providers at St. Vincent De Paul had reached out informing us of the mother’s situation and requested an Emergency Order from KidVantage.
We received the 3 children’s clothing & shoe sizes, and volunteers will put together custom clothing bundles for each child. This Emergency Order will be going out to the family tomorrow.

Because of our dedicated volunteers, donors, staff, and partners, we are able to be there for kids and families in our community; relieving stress by giving immediate tangible assistance when they need it. Something we hope to keep doing with your help.

This is only one of thousands of families needing this kind of basic assistance each month.  KidVantage tries our best to be a resource for them, but we’re seeing a gap between what is needed and what we can give out…help us close the gap!
